Dance Curriculum

Conditioning, Technique, and Ancillary Subjects (Music and Rhythm)
LAC curriculum builds a strong foundation in Bharatanatyam, incorporating movement, rhythm, music, and storytelling.

Movement and Storytelling
Ages 4–6 | No prerequisite
A playful introduction to Bharatanatyam through gesture, rhythm, and storytelling. Students build strength, flexibility, and body awareness while learning basic stances and movement vocabulary.

Beginner 1
Ages 6–8 | No prerequisite
Students learn foundational adavu technique, hand gestures, and dance mythology. The class also introduces basic Carnatic music concepts, rhythm (tala), and physical conditioning for dance.

Through classes, workshops, and partnerships with community-based programs, Laya Arts Academy creates an approach to Indian arts that is inclusive, exciting, and inspiring.
